Compare 2 of my Favorite Photos of 2023
Last year, I had the good fortune to visit the Highlights Foundation three times. These two photos show the same bookshelf in the Native Creatives cabin. Can you see the difference? They show Indigenous books by Native / First Nations authors and illustrators, and you can see numbers growing!
Would you help us share the good news? Here are ways you can help:
- Request titles at your library.
- Buy authentic Native authored published works at your local bookstores.
- Suggest titles for your book club.
- Support new releases and pre-order – that helps tremendously.
- Research new releases on Amazon and talk about them with your family, friends, and neighbors.
Thank you!
Andrea

So heartening to see more books in that second picture. I will have to check out if my library has a similar section
Glad to help!
Hi Andrea,
Our church has a book shelf for Native authors and information on Indigenous issues.
We have an FNMI group that meets for a talking circle on Zoom to discuss books by native authors.
Thanks for supporting Native Creatives!
