Hi there! And thanks for checking out my website.

My name is Andrea Page. I am Hunkpapa Lakota, which means I am a citizen of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. To read more about me, go to the “About Andrea” button in the menu or click here.

My writing for children includes nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. Even after retiring from 34 years of elementary education in 2019, I’ve stayed involved with students of all ages. I’m proud to say I’m a lifelong learner who continues to study the craft of children’s writing.

My current passion is promoting new books for kids written by Native authors. I value supporting fellow authors and their writing. Although Native American children’s literature is making great strides, it only accounts for about 1-2% of all published children’s books, according to the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC). Young readers learn the value of their lives through authentic storytelling. As an author and educator, my primary goal is inspiring young minds by promoting and writing meaningful stories.
